Anointed, Catholic, Christ, God the Father, papa, Pope, prophecy, The kingdom of heaven is at hand!  Are you ready to meet the Lord?

Even before the Lord Jesus began to reveal the particulars about the destruction of Jerusalem, and the last day’s scenario in Matthew Chapter 24, he gave a sober warning.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Now that prophecy is an extreme example of pretenders to the throne, which literally happens from time to time: someone claims to be Christ.  And in the same sort of way, many have come in the name of Jesus Christ and claim to be him by his other names, or infer they are his special agents.  The Roman Catholic Church, for example, calls their leader “Pope” which means Papa or Abba, the informal name of “God the Father.”  As you hopefully remember, Father is God’s hallowed name as stated in the “Lord’s Prayer,” and there is also a prohibition by the Lord Jesus Christ on the use of his hollowed name, “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”  Interestingly one official title and name of Rome’s pontiff is “The Holy Father.”  Talk about fulfilling prophecy in your face, and talk about blasphemy, and talk about many being deceived.  Why even the lower level Catholic clergy are called Fathers because Catholicism has lots of god’s for you to worship.  And their gods even  claim they can change wine and wafers into the literal blood and flesh of Christ, which is their mockery of the Lord Jesus’ last supper.  Like the guy trying to convert me to Rome’s way said one day, “A billion Roman Catholics can’t be wrong, can they?”  The simple answer is –Yep!

Furthermore, on the word Christ, it means the anointed one, the anointed one of God, or God’s special one.  As a matter of fact, a synonym for Christ is “Anointed.”  Let’s think it out a bit…

If you’ve been a believer for a while, you’ve probably heard a few preachers look into the eye of the television camera and proclaim, “I’m anointed of God” - in a special sense - and/or they have a capitalized title for their self-glorification as I’m Prophetess Diamonds Galore, I’m Father Malarkey, I’m Doctor Schicklgruber, I’m Rabbi Leaven; or, I’m the Bishop, I’m the Apostle, or I’m the Pastor.  Listen: It is one thing to be a pastor, but Pastor is not your name and it is not your title; and it is not like Reverend Decepción who keeps asserting from his pulpit, “You are my people and I am your Pastor.  You are my sheep and I am your Shepherd.”  (Sounds like Psalm 100 plagiarism to me.)

So when the Lord Jesus said, “Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many,” it is important to apply the principle to understand the last days are here now.

And so, until we meet again… Remember, God loves you.  Read your Bible.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
