I don't think I had stopped looking at it when a sedan slowed down and crept by - like a bully looking for a fight. Inside the car were three or four young men with western hats on.

The Answer was Blowin' in the Wind

American Indian, campsite, Colorado, God loves you, Read your Bible, RV, A lot of times we wonder whether God can provide for us because we cannot think of a way he can.   However, it is no problem for the Lord to get things done.

While I was backpacking cross country for five months on the side of the road, I was being frugal with the funds. On many sections of the trek, I had little in variety to eat and ate a lot of peanut butter and crackers. About four months out, and in the middle of the Colorado countryside, I saw on the map that I was coming to an RV campsite, and hoped it had a store to buy a can of greasy corn beef. (Funny what you can get a hankering for.) So, I told the Lord if I got a little extra money from him, I'd splurge and get something special.

Shortly after that, on the shoulder of the road, I saw some paper tumbling over the top of the green grass in the gentle warm breeze. It looked like it could be money, and as it got closer I could see that it was! It tumbled and floated right to me, and I picked it up, held the twenty dollar bill up to my face, and was very excited.

I don't think I had stopped looking at it when a sedan slowed down and crept by - like a bully looking for a fight. Inside the car were three or four young men with western hats on. One of them had the window down with his hand and arm extending out, and he flashed a knife from three feet away. I was so euphoric, however, that the Lord had given me the present in the way he did, I hardly noticed their intimidation. And so, they just kept driving on, and I kept walking on, and my feet hardly seemed to touch the ground.

Well, as I remember, there was no store in the RV area, and it was probably a few days later that I meet a young man, an American Indian, on the side of the road. He said he had gone off his reservation to see the world and was hitchhiking his way back home. He went on and said he was broke, and I thought to help him out a bit, but I didn't want to take my pack off and rummage through it. Then the thought came to my mind that I would give him all that was in my pocket - whatever it was. So, I put my hand into the pocket and was surprised that there was a piece of paper with the coins. Yes, you guessed it. The $20 bill the Lord had given to me was then given to this young man in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I guess his answer had been blowing in the wind as well, and I was very satisfied with the real something special the Lord had provided for me out in the wilderness.

God loves you.  Read your Bible.
