Catch and Release Evangelists

http://patmosplanet.net/essays/essay_images/catch-and-release.jpgThe Isle of Patmos is surrounded by a Sea of Iniquity which contains a great multitude of fish; and because there are so many fish, there are many fishers of men. Some have fishing licenses issued by the Lord Jesus Christ, and others have fishing licenses issued by the United Serpent's Department of Scribes and Pharisees. The Lord’s fishers use their poles and nets to bring the catch to land; whereupon, the fish miraculously turn into sheep: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (I Peter 1:23) The sheep will never feel at home again in the Sea of Iniquity, for they have become new creatures.

On the other hand, when the Serpent's anglers fish for men, they use the Catch and Release method. You see, after setting their hooks into the species known as “Proselyte,” they play him well until he is worn and tired: whereupon, they pull him out and flaunt him publicly for all to see. Then their trophy is documented on a baptismal certificate; but lest Proselyte dies to self and be born again, he is carefully released back into the Sea of Iniquity.

Deeply sunk into his old environment again, he enrolls into a new school of fish called, the “University of Hell” (Matthew 23:15), and there he will live and learn until he is caught again by the same or another satanic angler.   During the time between catchings, however, Proselyte will have grown and become a bigger prize.  This is how the Catch and Release Evangelist fish on the Isle of Patmos.

God loves you.  Read your Bible.
